CITIZEN ALERT v1.171
ONE POINT FOR W

North Korea has agreed to start disarming its nuclear program under a pact that will bring it about $300 million worth of aid. So, it looks like George's 6 party talks worked, which I actually agreed with to tell you the truth. One of the few times I've agreed with W.

When all the liberals were screaming for unilateral talks with NK, I found myself on George's side wondering by the same people who screamed that it was the Bush administration's unilateral stance on Iraq that was ruining our lives, but unilateral talks with NK were the way to go. Whaaaa? Typical politics.

Other than that, I have to give two points back to the liberals and peace activists in the country as this agreement shows that you don't have to combat violence with violence. Diplomacy can work. Talking works. Seeing past the defensive posturing and looking to the real needs of people, it's possible to disarm them with some inkling of hope for themselves.
