Sorry, about the lack of CA over the weekend. I was in the hospital on Friday, out of it still on Saturday and then my girlfriend Ashley went to the emergency room on Sunday! It has been an eventful weekend. All I can say is, Demerol - wow! Anyways, let's see what's cooking in the "News of the Stupid".
Iran's President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, along with some other news leaks here and there has announced that on February 11th the "Iranian nation's inalienable right to access and use nuclear technology will be established." If that wasn't enough, the Fars News Agency is reporting that it will also be announced that Iranian scientists have come up with an herbal medicine which cures AIDS!
Well, dang if that just don't blow your skirt up. A nuclear bomb and a cure for AIDS all in the same week! I will be shocked beyond all belief if they do indeed come up with ANYTHING resembling a cure of course.
There's about 137,000 HIV infected individuals in Iran, due in part to 1) drug use in the country 2) the prison systems there, and 3) the lack of education on the subject. For example: about 28% of males 15-18 are sexually active and half of them have never even seen a condom, and even fewer know that condoms can prevent STDs! This is a country just discovering the words "harm reduction", so I ain't looking for a cure anytime soon from these folks. Nice try guys. File this under: When monkeys fly out of my butt.
You know what a youth driven drug problem tells me? Trouble in paradise. Rebelliousness. A differing opinion when it comes to radical Islamic fundamentalism, i.e. future allies. Is the American government going to see any of this? Nah, they'll just start bombing them until we turn them ALL into jihadists.
