CHAOS IN THE MIDDLE EAST
McCain appeared on Meet the Press this Sunday saying that more troops would be needed to bring a victory in Iraq and that we were going to win or lose this thing in the next several months. He also drug out the old " if we just up and leave Iraq the region will fall into chaos".
I agree. The region will fall into chaos, but since when has the American government been concerned about the middle east falling into chaos. IT'S ALWAYS BEEN IN CHAOS! And the US has had a hand in creating a lot of it. Iraq and Iran were at war with each other for 8 years. Iran fighting with American made weapons and Iraq receiving help from...hello...America! It was our way of boxing Iran in. Chaos has been created by outside forces in the region forever, so what we call chaos, I think they'd call it a day in the life.
Right now, I'm reading an article on the US immigration problem in the new Foreign Affairs by Tamar Jacoby. It's a great read, and I highly recommend it. I'll try and discuss it sometime this week.
